Presentation of the PaintingSkillsAcademy at the online conference
The annual meeting of senior representatives of the education ministries of the EU member states, the European Commission and social partners took place as an online conference in 2020 as part of the German EU Council Presidency. The event took place at the invitation of the Director General for Vocational Education and Training, Kornelia Haugg from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and was opened by EU Commissioner Nicolas Schmit, Parliamentary State Secretary Thomas Rachel (BMBF) and Berlin State Secretary Beate Stoffers. The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) was also present with a lecture by Research Director Prof. Dr. Hubert Ertl involved.
As part of the panel “Good Practices - Innovative Sectoral Approaches in European Vocational Education and Training”, the SBG was invited to present the PaintingSkillsAcademy and, with the participants, discuss among others the following questions:
How can sectoral initiatives and collaborations most effectively build bridges between the rapidly changing labor market needs and the range of vocational training available?
What are the opportunities and risks of European professional core profiles - taking into account the sectoral qualification needs and the already existing sectoral cooperation?
How do sectoral networks feed their experiences back into the VET system, both in their countries and beyond?
